By the late 18th century, Via Monte di Dio had become one of Naples's poshest addresses. Lined with palazzi and villas, it was chosen by Prince Aloisio Serra di Cassano for his family palace, designed by Ferdinando Sanfelice, the most important architect of domestic architecture in Naples.
